As we know early childhood education is much needed and essential to build the basic foundation for 2.5 to 4.5 years old kidos as recommended.
Today , we would like to discuss little bit of in details about early childhood education and secondly does online E-coaching and learning is really helping our enthusiastic kids in vastly and fastly moving competative environments.
Early Childhood Education:
Early childhood education (ECE) which includes nursery education is a branch of education system theory that relates to the teaching of children rather formally or informally which strats from the age limit of 2.5 years . It is described as an important period in a child’s memory development. It refers to the development of a child’s personality along with built up of good and positive attitude, which is really important to get the things right on track and boostup multiple intelligence, motor skill development and brain development with the help of various didactic metrials. This process was initiated by Dr. Maria Montessori , who was a quality educationalist.
Brief fallback ,History:
The history of early childhood care and education refers to the development of care and education of children from birth through eight years old throughout history. ECCE has a global scope, and caring for and educating young children has always been an integral part of human societies. Arrangements for fulfilling these societal roles have evolved over a period of time and remain varied across cultures, often reflecting family and community Nevertheless, parents still face the same challenges as the generations that preceded them on how to care for young children while away at work..
Context of ECE :
While the first two years of a child’s life are spent in the creation of a child’s first “sense of self“,confidence, most children are able to differentiate between themselves and others by their second year. This differentiation is crucial to the child’s ability to determine how they should function in relation to other people or community. Parents can be seen as a child’s first teacher and therefore an integral part of the early learning process.
Learning through play (free leraning) is very important for ECE:
Early childhood education often focuses on learning through play, based on the advanced research and philosophy , which postulates that when play meets the physical, intellectual, language, emotional, and social needs (PILES) of children. Children’s curiosity and imagination naturally evoke towards learning when its unrestricted.
Theories of Child development:
The five developmental domains of childhood development includes:
- Physical Dvelopement: the way in which a child develops biological and physical functions, including fine motor skills and gross motor skills.
- Social Decelopement: the way in which a child interacts with others. Children develop an understanding of their responsibilities and rights as members of families and communities, as well as an ability to relate to and work with others.
- Emotional Developement: the way in which a child creates emotional connections and develops self-confidence. Emotional connections develop when children relate to other people and share feelings.
- Language Developement: the way in which a child communicates, including how they present their feelings and emotions, both to other people and to themselves. At 3 months, children employ different cries for different needs. At 6 months they can recognize and imitate the basic sounds of spoken language. In the first 3 years, children need to be exposed to communication with others in order to pick up language properly. “Normal” language development is measured by the rate of vocabulary, how learning developement skill, habit or quality developes.
- Cognitive skills: the way in which a child organizes information. Cognitive skills include problem solving, creativity, imagination and memory. They encompasses the way in which children make sense of the world. It has believed that children exhibit prominent differences in their thought patterns as they move through the stages of cognitive development: sensorimotor period, the pre-operational period, and the operational period.
Does online education is helpful for nursery going children during COVID-19 pandamic?
When the COVID-19 pandemic had started, schools had to shift to online teaching, many of them misunderstood and tried to turn the physical school into a virtual school.
The pandemic has bothered many parents around the world, with regards to their child’s education. While schools are still closed, parents are either involved in home-schooling of their children, and helping them with their online classes, a curriculum for which has been decided by their schools. But, there seems to be some confusion around the education of three and four-year oldies.
For Nursery, JKG and SKG , as we know that montessori didactic materials are most important requrements to make their learning life easy and smooth. So, incase play school administration is willing to go for online activites for nursery students during COVID pandemic then how they will be able to conduct such classes as these trainings are completely based on touch based? That is something play school administration has to think very quickly and need to act promptly.
There are sections of parents of nursery and pre-nursery going kids wanted to know if their online admissions can be deferred by a year, or should they be learning online via the classes arranged by schools, or rather not be doing anything at all, since they are still pretty young and do not need the same discipline that older kids and teenagers do.The question which something I would rather leave it to school management to answer on.
How online education is helpful for LKG and UKG kids:?
As per Decaan Herald news sources a leading newspaper ,the government is likely to restrict schools from conducting online classes for LKG and UKG students, while officials and administrative bodies feel that children up to Class 3 should be exempted from the same. Animated videos to help childs to understand the concepts in an easy and interesting manner. As per media sources subscription to any digital E-learning resources to KG class students should be provided for atleast 1 year considering the current COVID-19 catastrophe, crisis. But what about those school going students who are studying in government institutions, with weak economic background?I believe the process should be applicable irrespeective of govt.or private institutions. A free E-learning digital model structure along with device and equipments will be really helpful on this context.
How does online E-Learning apps helping children to improve their skillset and memory?
There is no such online e learning app below age 6 has been recommended. Kids between 6 and 14 enroll here to learn to code. Byjus, Toppr, and Vedantu have sppeded up their coding classes too. But they are not necessarily made for nursery children . And coding isn’t exactly the specialty for 2.5 to 3.5 old child. These online apps, tutorilas enhances mission is to help KG or above students to become better and lifelong learners, including a a day to day brain gym which helps to culture their memory as well.
